The Hotel and its history
The Village Hotel Aquila, located in one of the most suggestive areas of Trentino, is owned by the Ceccato family, who manages it directly by providing guests with their over one hundred year experience that guarantees stays of the highest quality, impeccable service in the restaurant (only for groups) and a welcoming environment, made special by the characteristic decor of the living rooms and the dining room.
In ancient times the distance of one and a half mails, which separated Trento and Rovereto, was interspersed with a brief stop in Calliano where the historic hotel "Aquila Nera" once stood, which functioned as a postal collection. The "Aquila Nera" hotel was also famous for the excellent wine that was served in its inn.
With the excuse of letting the horses rest, postilions and travelers sat in the cool courtyard of the hotel where they could refresh their spirits by sipping fresh white wine from the cellar, generously served by the innkeeper. A tradition of hospitality that lives on today in this hotel near Rovereto, specialized in hosting large groups and groups of tourists in search of an enchanting place from which to explore the beauties of this unique area in the world.
Calliano is also located near the area of Folgaria. For history buffs the forts of World War I can be visited. During the First World War, the Calliano station was an important crossroads for the entire Alpine region for the sorting of goods and weapons.
